East Leake Amateur players are an Amateur Dramatics group located in the Village of East Leake in Rural Nottinghamshire

The group has been running for over 10 years now with the aim of providing an arts and entertainment outlet for the local community.

The group is self funded and run by its members who comprise more than 70 in number with ages ranging from 8 to 80!

ELAPS typically hold 2 major productions a year although the Junior group may sometimes boost this to 3 or 4

The main productions take place in May and December, with the December production being Pantomime based.

The group meets on a Thursday evening in East Leake Village Hall on Main Street in the village and anyone wishing to join the group is welcome to come along.

There are many roles to play in an Amateur Dramatics group and often more of them are backstage rather that those that result in appearances on the stage. So whether it’s acting, singing, props management, set painting, scenery manufacturing,
lighting, sound, prompting, front of house, costume making, directing, producing, just helping out generally or all of the above that interest you – we’re always interested in new members who want to come along and join us.
